Student Leadership
At Carlisle Adventist College, all students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills to support fellow students and contribute to the wider community. Opportunities to build these qualities are offered through a range of learning experiences as well as student leadership roles, including School Captain, Sports Captain, and the Student Representative Council.
Student Representatives and Captains are expected to be ambassadors who embody the College values and motto. Their responsibilities range from public speaking at school events to active participation in school activities, while also encouraging other students to get involved. School leaders are elected by their peers to represent the student body and work as a team supporting all students.
Regardless of whether a student is elected into a formal leadership role, every student has the chance to demonstrate leadership in other ways, such as the buddy system, where older students are paired with younger students to offer guidance and support.
Formal Leadership Roles
At Carlisle Adventist College, student leadership is guided by our CARE values – Compassion, Achievement, Respect, and Effort. Through three key leadership areas, students are encouraged to serve their peers, contribute to the school community, and model the values that define who we are.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) meets regularly to represent the student voice and raise matters of importance within the school. The SRC also plans, leads, and budgets for charity initiatives and school events throughout the year.
School Captains are the senior student leaders of Carlisle Adventist College. They are actively involved across all areas of school life, represent the College at official events, and speak publicly on behalf of the student body. School Captains are approachable, reliable, and trustworthy, and they model positive behaviour and presentation at all times.
Sports Captains encourage participation and school spirit through House activities and sporting events. They inspire enthusiasm and inclusivity, motivating students to engage in events such as Athletics and Swimming Carnivals, while serving as approachable and dependable leaders within their House communities.
